We are evolving into a time where thoughts and intuition will play a bigger part.

When you greet someone, you will no longer will you be able to shake hands and smile all the while looking for the nearest exit.

It will become a greater part of the human experience to intuitively know what the other guy is really thinking.

At the same time, it will become apparent that you cannot toil at something you truly hate – and expect life to get better.

There will come a time in the near future when man will have to choose more carefully how he thinks.

It won’t be a little thinking about something and then going about his day; it will be a drawing of a line in the sand to publicly avow or attest to where he has his allegiance.

If one does not go within and find their Truth they will be flipping this way and that like a sheet flicking in the wind on a clothes line. Read more on Publicly Avow to Beliefs…

There is a path to a better way of living.

That path is the one that is taken within.

You have been seeking elsewhere for knowledge and guidance, avoiding the very place that holds the information that you are seeking…  and that place is within you.

You were designed that way.

Freeing My Writer

After a week of battling my mind to allow the creative to come in, I am speaking with my dear friend, Andrea on the phone.

She senses my hesitation about my writing resistance and asks what is going on. “This is so simple,” she says, “You are simply doing what you have been doing for years — writing intuitively.  Only now you have this wonderful blog to post to.  Why the resistance?”

Writing to Clear the Mind to get to the Heart

If I force my writing, it feels heavy, weighted and restrictive. That is when I know it is coming from the mind, which is like a task master standing ready to strike my fingers with its ruler.

The writing needs to come from my heart. It is then that the writing is light and easy. If, as I am writing I lose track of time and space, then I know that I am writing from within the slipstream.

How do we get from the head to the heart?

I skip along the 16th moonbeam and then veer sharply to the right.

My feet land safely on another row of beams and I skip across the pattern of light as though I am jumping across lily pads in a pond.

The Earth is visible below me – spinning silently and smoothly – half lit by sunlight, half plunged in darkness. It is an enchanting sight to see.

Gently step onto the path of enlightenment … Breathe

Take your time with this process – there is no hurry – there is no rush – there is no multitasking.

Rushing will only throw you off the path.

Take another breath.  Humans have a tendency to not breathe deeply enough.

As you breathe, let your mind settle, let your pulse slow down.

Become aware of the gentle rhythm of your heart.

Stop pushing and pulling at life – cease trying – cease forcing.

By committing to write more – one’s mind may slip off from creative into editor mode.

With renewed commitment to write– my mind fights to slip off from creative into editor mode. It would rather edit and flesh out what I have already written – like working a puzzle– than to let loose and allow new creative thought in.

I am startled that this is occurring.  I thought that once the commitment was made, the writing would flow easily.  But instead my mind has become used to having many balls in the air and does not want to quietly tap into creativity.

And so, like David and Goliath, I must persist and find a way to overcome the giant bully that does not want to behave. What should be fun can become toil if one’s mind rebels against doing it.

The critic can get very loud in one’s head. But, having dipped into the well of creative consciousness, I know what is possible. But for now, the dog is harnessed – perhaps a walk will release the flow!

I woke up this morning in a pleasantly uplifted mood.

I had been up late last night writing creatively and went to sleep joyful, awakening refreshed and  looking forward to my day.

And then something triggered a painful memory of an event from the previous month and I felt the hurt all over again.

As I sat in my chair, I fell into despair – feeling the sting from being hurt by someone I dearly loved.  I thought I had already released this – but there it was.

As I relived the event – again – in my mind,  my body grew tense.

Julia Cameron is one of my absolute favorite writing / spiritual teachers.

In the Artist’s Way Cameron instructs how to break free of mind-babble with a ritual – tool she calls the Morning Pages.

Julia Cameron - The Artists WaySimply start your day writing three 8 1/2″ x 11″ pages of whatever is on your mind. This can be a release of your inner critique “What are you wasting your time doing this for?”, or a dialogue about upcoming events “I have to go to the bank today” or your inner thoughts “last night I had the strangest dream about…” or “I don’t feel like writing this today”.
