Stepping on the Path of Joy

Beware the Voice of The Trickster

If deep down inside you have a burning desire — a compulsion perhaps that has been with you for years — that would improve your life, bring joy to you and value to the world … who’s stopping you?

If you stop and really listen to the voice of  should – it most likely mimics that of a parent or adult caregiver from childhood.

Even if that person has moved on or passed on, their “voice” may be governing your life based on what you think they think you should do or be.

I have lived many years hearing that familiar  (falsely) judging voice.

I now refer to that voice as The Trickster. To tell you the truth, it’s impossible to live up to its standards because it is often fleeting and always repressive.

And when I do listen to my head instead of my heart, I most often find that there is no joy in what I am doing.

On the other hand… I have tapped my foot on the joyful path that has called to me intuitively since I was a child.

Sometimes I just tap the path with my toe — you know — to see if its still there.

Other times, I tip toe on the path — then dare a few delightful steps before hopping back off — before anyone sees me on it.

It can be scary to walk our inner path – but when I walk it with the intention of beingness, my life works better – synchronicity shows up – and I am a joyful being.

But this intuition stuff is just a bunch of woo-woo… isn’t it? Or is it?

If you hear an inner calling but keep ignoring it — it may become louder while standing in your shower or sleeping in your bed. That persistent call is your Soul’s creative desires.

If there is something you have always wanted to do or be… but have been afraid to even consider it seriously, try this:

Take a piece of paper — or a new document on your computer — and write out the worse case scenario, then a middle-of-the-road so-so scenario, then a best case scenario of what would happen in your life if you stepped onto your path.

It doesn’t have to be the “big plan”… just what you think you would feel or experience if you took the first step of intention.

The insights may surprise you… and may awaken you to when you are listening to The Trickster!
